The Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute was founded by Mrs. Carroll M. Carpenter. She modeled the Friends group after the successful Society of Sloan Kettering group in New York, with whom she was also affiliated. To date, the Friends have raised over $3.6 million dollars to benefit cancer patients and their families.
Founded in 2002, the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute is a volunteer organization working in cooperation with the clinical staff of the Graham Cancer Center to help fund programs that enhance the patient care experience, support cancer research, and provide public education on prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.
